Note: The Peacewords Foundation is incorporated in the state of Massachusetts as a Nonprofit Corporation and all contributions to the Peacewords Foundation are tax deductible to the maximum extent as allowed by law. The Peacewords Foundation is in the process of applying for recognition as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization by the IRS. All Peacewords Foundation donors will receive a thank you letter and a statement of receipt, regardless of the amount of your gift. For gifts of less than $250, a canceled check or credit card statement is sufficient for IRS requirements. For individual donations of $250 or more, the IRS requires a receipt from the charity that includes wording that you received no tangible benefit in exchange for your gift. For all donations that do provide you with a tangible benefit (a dinner for example) the charity must determine the amount of that benefit and produce a receipt only for the remainder of your payment as the amount of your donation.
